Happy New Year!

Happy New Year!

It’s a snowy, fresh winter day outside my door. I’m sitting at home looking out the window enjoying my last day of Christmas break. There would be no better time it seems, to introduce myself and my blog, “Home @ Three”. 

My name is Krista. I’m mom to Aidan, wife to Aaron & I work full time as a marketing communications manager. The three of us along with our golden retriever Tenley and cat Percy make our home in Pictou County, Nova Scotia.

For my first blog post, it’s only fitting I give you a little glimpse around our three bedroom, 1800 square foot bungalow, where we live in a tiny community called Three Brooks.  I always say our home is a work in progress (although we’ve owned it for 13 years now)... we are constantly busy with a project around here trying to make things more cozy and fresh; it's truly a labor of love as we work to make our home shine again.  

Since starting my Home @ Three Instagram account 6 months ago, I’ve had a few people approach me about starting a blog. I wasn’t sure I wanted to take it on but at the same time the thought of sharing creative ideas for ones home has always excited me. 

To be honest, I haven’t always loved my home. I spent years looking around here wishing for a bigger, newer house. I would despair at the peeling paint and squeaky cupboard doors and plaster walls. But lately, I’ve come to realize that as with anything, it is what you make it. And if I had a brand new picture perfect home I would miss finding fixer upper projects to tackle. They fill up much of my time when I’m not working or at the rink or basketball court with Aidan. I get so much satisfaction from seeing a vision come to life; whether it be a freshly painted room, stained deck or a new plant on my window sill. And so, as we embark on the start of a new year, I am embracing my passion and look forward to sharing creativity with you:
