A trip to Margaree

We went to Aaron’s parents for Boxing Day this year and spent two days with them. It involved eating too much delicious food, drinking insane amounts of coffee, playing crokinole, watching Downton Abbey and of course a visit to Uncle Merv’s Dancing Goat for breakfast (and another swing by for a Chai latte on the way home!)

One of the gifts we gave my father in law, Ashley was a Weather Station, which of course required batteries. This meant a trip into the local general store, MacPherson’s (where Ashley also works part time). 

Over all the years I’ve been traveling to Margaree with Aaron (almost 20!) I’ve never been into MacPhersons. So I went in and took a few photos. What a treasure it is. What some may see as outdated, I saw as quaint and welcoming.

If you have the chance to visit Portree, Margaree Cape Breton someday, be sure to take some time to visit MacPhersons. I’ll let the photos speak for themselves, but I promise you can find almost anything you need there.
