Juggling for fun

Although this blog is about my home, there’s other passions I love to share.

My full time job as Marketing Communications Manager for Tony’s takes up a huge part of my day. I’m going into my 5th year in this role. It sees me traveling and connecting with awesome people across the country, but 75% of my time is spent working from
a home office looking at forecasts, drafting content, overseeing budgets and writing proposals. I really enjoy my career. I feel blessed at this point in my life to be able to do work I enjoy. But with only these four walls around me, I can’t help but imagine how I might make things in Three Brooks function and work better - much to my husband’s chagrin! Often times he arrives home from the office, and (once we finish up the work day catch up) it’s onto “We should repaint this, or what if we move this table here?”....

Some know another of my “loves” is clothing and fashion....so much so that I started an online community three years ago called Pictou County Chicest Closets. It was featured in “Home on the North Shore”, and afterwards many thought it was a full time venture! I can’t manage to juggle two careers at this point in my life, so like this home blog, it is just a hobby and creative outlet for me. It’s motivation & makes it fun to clean out my closets and take pretty pictures of my clothing and accessories. Once I finish bagging up clothes for Value Village (I used to work as Community Development Coordinator, NS for the Canadian Diabetes Association, so I realize how important it is to donate whatever clothing you can) I advertise choice pieces for sale or trade with friends who like to do the same. It’s always fun to see what treasures are posted! I’m sure throughout this blog journey you’ll see all kinds of references to fashion pop up from time to time!

Sometimes, we stick ourselves in a box and don’t realize how much we are defined by our “job”. What if we take time to truly embrace all the things we love and are good at? In the end, what is important is to nurture our passions, help others and if you are authentic with your intentions, the rest will fall into place.

So, I’m curious...what are you passionate about?
