“If you have a garden and a library, you have everything you need. ” 🌷
For those of you who are new to following me, or who may not know much about me (yet!), I love to read! 📚Books have always been a friend. Lately, I’ve been thinking about how I can display my collection.
I used to have a bookshelf in my hallway, but it’s been relocated to Aidan’s room for HIS many books and treasures (books I wish he’d pick up more often than his xbox controller, still hoping Fortnite is a phase, but anyway!!) I also used to have a glass front cabinet that I’d display books in but that’s since been moved to the cottage - I do a lot of reading in the summer months (especially books by Elin Hilderbrand! Love her + Nantucket = bucket list!) Do you have a lot of books in your home or do you use an e-reader or iBooks? Admittedly I do download a lot of books now for the convenience of always having them at my fingertips, but the ones I do have from the past 30 years are currently stuck in a couple of cupboard throughout the house. I would like to be able to see them again!
This photo from Thistle Harvest with the vintage feel has me thinking about different shelving options. My best friend Christena’s new home with her many books so beautifully displayed (and color coordinated) also inspired me.
I sense there may be a little weekend project coming on. Because, yes - most of my books do spark all the joy! TGIF!
